EMIpower-subproject was a part of the national Control of Vibration and Sound (VÄRE) technology programme 1.1.1999 - 30.4.2003. The application of the case was an agricultural tractor.

Project participants:

• Valtra Inc.

The main goals of the project were:

• to understand the behavior of the system described in the following picture, where the source is a diesel engine and the receiver is a tractor frame structure
• to know the factors and limitations of simplified structure borne noise description
• to find out possibilities to reduce the radiated sound power of the system with transfer path modifications
• to investigate and optimize the system on the basis of simulation and modeling
• to utilize achieved knowledge in product development projects of Valtra tractors
