The objective of the
Low-Friction Engines research project
is to
improve the mechanical efficiency and fuel economy in internal
combustion
engines by friction reducing concepts. The research will be
implemented through computer simulations and experimental research of
the piston, the piston rings, the
cylinder liner and the engine bearings.
The Low-Friction Engine project is a part of the COST 532
"Triboscience and Tribotechnology" Action. The project is being
supported financially by the National
Technology Agency (TEKES) and industrial partners.
