Project: Fuel Spray Dynamics

The objective of the research project is to improve the reliability of fuel spray CFD simulations in diesel engines. The fuel spray does play a major role in the air/fuel mixing process and the fuel spray is the key to combustion control beside the engine flow field. The project includes international co-operation and it is a sub-task in the IEA Combustion Agreement.

Project schedule: from September 1st, 2003 to December 31st, 2006
Total Budget: 240 000 euros.
